Continuous Data Protection (CDP) is an advanced backup solution that stores data backups at specified intervals, as per our Backup Policy. We take CDP backups once every 24 hours, ensuring your critical data is securely stored. In case of data loss, we can restore the backed-up data from available restore points upon request.
When CDP Backup is first configured, it creates a full replica of all your data on a disk-based backup repository. After this initial backup, CDP tracks block-level changes (deltas) using a volume filter Device Driver between scheduled synchronizations.
The next scheduled backup involves:
Creating a point-in-time snapshot of your data.
Reading and backing up the deltas tracked by the volume filter device driver.
Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) ensures efficient, point-in-time, block-level snapshots for Windows Servers.
Linux Kernel Module uses a proprietary module to capture volume snapshots for Linux Servers.
Minimal Downtime, as backups run in the background without disrupting applications.
Flexible Scheduling, allowing backups at 15-minute intervals, daily, or on specific days.
In addition to CDP Backup, we now provide Acronis Backup as an add-on for all our Dedicated and VPS servers. Acronis offers:
