You can remotely manage and control your Windows VPS hosted with Softsys Hosting using Remote Desktop Connection (RDP)—a built-in tool in all modern Windows operating systems.
This guide will walk you through the steps to connect to your VPS using RDP.
Click the Start Menu (Windows icon on the bottom left).
Navigate to Windows Accessories > Remote Desktop Connection.
You can also search for Remote Desktop Connection in the Start menu.
In the Computer field, enter your VPS IP address or hostname provided in your welcome email.
Click Connect.
When prompted, enter your VPS username (typically Administrator
) and password.
Click OK to initiate the connection.
Once connected, you’ll have full desktop access to your VPS environment.
Ensure Remote Desktop is enabled in your VPS settings.
Make sure your firewall settings allow RDP traffic (usually port 3389).
If you're connecting for the first time, you may receive a warning about certificate verification. You can safely proceed by clicking Yes.
For macOS: Download the official Microsoft Remote Desktop app from the Mac App Store.
For iOS/Android: Install the Microsoft Remote Desktop app from the App Store or Google Play.
Enter your VPS IP address, credentials, and connect.
