Steps for Configuring Email Account in MS Outlook (IMAP)

IMAP Email Account Configuration in MS Outlook 2007/2010/2016/2019

Please follow the steps below to configure IMAP email accounts in Outlook. 

1. Use the 'Tools' menu to open the 'Account Settings' panel.
2. Click the New button under the E-mail tab.
3. Now select the 'Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP or HTTP' option and hit 'Next'.
4. Select the checkbox 'Manually Configure Server Settings”. Everything else on that page should turn gray. Hit the 'Next' button again.
5. Now select 'Internet E-mail'

Configure email account in Outlook 6. Add in all your personal information here >> Choose the IMAP option in 'Account Type'.
-> Your Name: Enter the name you wish recipients to see when they receive your email.
-> Email Address: Enter your email address (
-> Account Type: IMAP
-> Incoming Mail: ""
-> SMTP mail: ""
-> Username: Enter your full email address.
-> Password: If you wish for Outlook to save your password, check the box labeled 'Remember Password' and enter your password in the text field.

8. Click on the 'Outgoing Server' tab, and check the box labeled 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication'. Then select 'Use same settings as my incoming mail server"'

-> Incoming Server: 143
-> Outgoing Server: 25 or 587

9. Click OK.
10. Click Next -> Finish.

Please make sure that Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server name include either the IP address or ""
IMAP Port: 143
SMTP Port: 25 or 587
