If you'd like all subdomains (like anything.yourdomain.com) to point to your main site (yourdomain.com), you can achieve this with a wildcard subdomain setup.

What is a Wildcard Subdomain?

A wildcard subdomain allows any subdomain (e.g., blog.yourdomain.com, test.yourdomain.com) to automatically redirect or resolve to your main website.

Requirements for Wildcard Subdomains:

  1. Dedicated IP Address:

    • Your website must be hosted on a dedicated IP without using host headers.

    • This ensures all incoming requests are routed to the main website.

  2. Wildcard DNS Record:

    • Add a * (wildcard) DNS record for your domain:

      *.yourdomain.com → [Your Dedicated IP]

    • This will direct all subdomain traffic to the same IP.

How Much Does a Dedicated IP Cost?

  • Dedicated IP address is available for $36/year.
